Volleyball Goes to State!

Schmidt

On Thursday, November 9, the Blue Hill spirit squad put on a pep rally for the state qualifying Bobcat volleyball team. At the pep rally, the girls completed three games based on their team motto: “Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It.”

For the first event, the team was split into 3 teams, and they had to get into sleeping bags and crawl across the floor without the sleeping bag falling off. After the full team accomplished this, they had to pull their coach on a bed sheet around the gym. Ms. Vankirk’s team won this game.

The next game required the girls to serve 5 volleyballs over the net with their nondominant arm, and then scoot across the gym as a “human caterpillar.” Mrs. Ostrander’s team won this game.

In the last game, volleyball players had to find toilet paper hidden in the crowd. They then had to wrap their coach in toilet paper. The crowd voted for the best wrapped coach. Ms. Vankirk was wrapped as a bride, Mrs. Allen as a princess, and Mrs. Ostrander as a robot. The student section got to yell for who was best wrapped. Mrs. Allen won this event.

The volleyball team plays tonight at Lincoln East at 5:30. Come support the girls at state!
